FAQs

Why is there salt in bread?
Salt is added to bread to help control the fermentation of the dough. It affects the texture and the flavour of the bread. We have been working with the Food Standards Agency to gradually reduce levels to achieve salt targets for 2010.
Why is it called Wholesome & Nutty when there are no nuts in the recipe?!

We wanted to describe the flavour of the bread as fully as possible. Many seeds have a nutty flavour - especially sunflower seeds - so, we decided to call it Wholesome & Nutty to reflect the taste of the bread.

For those who are nut allergic, we continue to operate a nut free policy and this loaf does not contain any nuts but does contain the following seeds: sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, linseed and millet.
