Breadcrumbs

To make fresh and dried breadcrumbs

Ingredients:

Kingsmill Bread

Method:

Making homemade breadcrumbs is a great way to use up those last few slices of Kingsmill bread and it can save you money.

Fresh Breadcrumbs

For fresh breadcrumbs simply grate using a cheese grater or blitz in a food processor.

Dried Breadcrumbs

To make dried bread crumbs, preheat oven to 200°C/400°F/Gas Mark 6. Lay out the bread slices on to a baking tray and place in the oven for approximately 10 - 15mins. To prevent burning, make sure you keep a close eye and turn the bread halfway through the cooking time.

When the bread slices are dry, remove from the oven and set aside to cool. Then use a food processor or put in a freezer bag and smash with a rolling pin, to make bread crumbs!

To add extra flavour why not place a whole unpeeled garlic clove and/or a teaspoon of dried chilli flakes into the jar.
